manifestations of british-ness.

don't be surprised when i:
1) say 'half past', 'quarter to', 'twenty to' with regards to the time, instead of '4.20'.
2) consume tea in excessive amounts (though i draw the line at putting milk in tea. ew.).
3) think biscuits are an exciting invention.
4) sporadically start speaking with a twinge of the BBC.
5) use terms like 'chav', 'lashed', 'dappy', 'knackered'.
6) say 'you alright?' instead of 'how are u'.
7) want marmite with butter and toast for breakfast.
8) call all desserts 'pudding'.
............ and many more that i can't point to at the moment. i've been here a year. can u blame me?

Don't blame me if i say "totally", "like" and "awesome" and i insist on tucking my sweatpants into my ugg boots and want bacon sausages and eggs dipped in oil for breakfast.
hey, bacon sausages and eggs are a british thing!
the sweatpants and uggs are not on, though.
on the dressing front, don't blame me if i wake up every morning and put on make up to go to class, and wear denim minis in the midst of winter with tights, boots and a light jumper in the freezing cold. cuz that's what brit girls do.
oh wait, i don't do that anyway...
and i like marmite, i like something savoury in the morning sometimes!
It would be interesting watching us get ready for school next sem...il throw my hair into a cap and walk out in pjs and you'll catch pneumonia for being british! But we can eat marmite/vegemite for brekkie together and scare bob with our marmite breath!
