gotta get around to doing that last will and testament...

i'm debating whether i should work for minimum wage. on the one hand, i'm 21 and really should not be working for minimum wage. on the other hand, the pay is cash in hand, and the work is easy. scooping ice-cream, no heavy lifting, carrying hot plates, running around.... so really, it makes sense to be paid lower for easier work.

i told charissa some of the things that the owners said to me during my trial, and now she thinks they are psycho. i was taken back by some of the things the owner said, like, 'if i see you doing that again, i will actually kill you'- but it probably is to do with the fact that they are small business owners and therefore tend to be anal and controlling.
but if i'm wrong, i request that my coffin be rainbow coloured and tastefully decorated, and that i be buried in pajamas and with my bolster.

i am still working at sofitel- i.e. high casual rates, but very physically tiring on the body. i just need another job for mid-dec to jan when sofitel's catering and conferencing dept gets deathly quiet.

hm. minimum wage for possibly psychotic bosses, or the time and effort to find another job that would require harder work but higher pay?

i am conflicted.

Hey Regine Bean, I am totally in tune with your employment dilemma. Have just finished exams so am doing the detested casual job interview rounds as well. I say your ice cream job is the way to go - think of all the colourful characters (apart from your bosses) whom you will encounter on a daily basis! Drooling toddlers... screaming toddlers... pooing toddlers... deranged single mothers... fawning first-date couples... all and sundry really, as who doesn't like ice cream?

Also, there is something rather romantic about scooping ice cream for a living. (Until you get carpal tunnel that is...)

Hey Reg,
the icecream job sounds like fun!
Though its very dodgey (illegal) of them to pay you in cash & at minimum wage..
If they are paying you in cash, they should be paying you more (as they don't have to pay tax) & you won't be on the books, so if anything happens, you are not covered. (As there is no record of you being employed there..)
Though if they are willing to pay you considerably more, its normally worth the risk!

Goodluck for exams!
