last night i dressed like a chicken.
it happens.
i'd just like to say that there is a context to this. it' not like i woke up one day and went, 'gee, i think i'll stick a rubber glove on my head and be a chicken'. besides, anyone who knows me knows that if i did wake up and decide to dress as an animal, it would be a cow.
speaking of cows, i swtched on my computer today to be greeting by this headline on the bbc website: "COW POWER'. so of course i couldn't resist. can u?

but i digress.
so i went on a 7-legged bar crawl last night. 6 people would tie their legs together, and 1 person would be the runner- the person who is not tied to anyone cuz he has to run to the bar to get the drinks. we had to have a theme. sometime during their discussion, while i was not there, i might add, they came up with the idea that they would alternately dress in black and white, and go as a zebra crossing. and i, as the runner, would be dressed as a chicken.
geddit? geddit?
it's a great concept, i admit.
very clever.
but then again, no one told me that i was going to be a chicken until sunday afternoon.
at that stage i thought we were going as cheerleaders and football players.
walking with laura on the way to beeston:
........ blah blah blah..............
laura: have u got anything for your chicken outfit?
me: what chicken outfit?
laura: oh, didn't anyone tell u? u're going as a chicken!
me: i'm WHAT!??!??!?!?!??!?!
laura: i can't believe no one has told u that u're going as a chicken!
in the end i had to wear a blue t-shirt, as the runner [cold chicken? chicken with bird flu?], and i had a rapidly deflating rubber glove on my head, and i was running around the city looking like that.
so yeah. my exchange has taken a strange turn.
